Bathroom cabinets can be a bit tricky to install, but if you have solid carpentry do-it-yourself skills and a selection of tools, you'll be able to handle it with no sweat. It is wise to have a helper when you do this project; however, as two sets of hands are quite helpful in placing heavy cabinetry.

Next step, gather your tools. You will need power towels, including stainless steel bathroom vanity, router, various types of saws, drills with varying sized bits, a level, a measuring tape, screws, bolts, nails, and a pencil. It's also handy to have a cell phone in case you need to call for back up supplies or plumbing advice. If you will be removing the existing cupboards, have the appropriate wrenching tools, man power and a truck to haul them to your local recycling resale shop. Remove the existing shelves carefully to preserve them for their next owner and to leave the walls as scar-free, as possible. Patch any accidental holes before getting ready for the installation. The first place to start is with the wall cabinets. It's a wise idea to remove drawers and doors of the cupboards in order to lighten their weight and make them easier to maneuver. Try to make all screw heads as hidden as possible. Use the level throughout the process to make sure they're all evenly hung. Shims may be necessary between wall and cabinet to make up for any imperfections.

Next install the base cupboards. You will definitely need to use shims to balance and level these, as floors and walls are rarely completely level. In these lower cabinets, you will have to allow space for plumbing of the bathroom sink, and a variety of electrical outlets for hair dryer, electric razor, etc. Make sure this is part of your bathroom design master plan. Next, you will finish all by attaching doors, inserting drawers and adjusting the hardware so that all appear straight and are functional in terms of the repeated opening and closing that they will have to do.

Install kick boards below the cabinets and fill any nail holes with putty in order to provide modern black bathroom vanities. Use a paintable caulking material to fill in any spaces between the cupboards and the wall. Now you're finished and ready for the installation of the countertop, bathroom sink and faucets. Congratulations!
